Mr. José A. Lopez, Jr. is currently in his 22nd year as Director of Bands at Port Charlotte Senior High School. Previous positions held during a 30 year career include Dougherty Senior High School in Albany, Georgia, and North Ft. Myers High School in Ft. Myers, Florida. Mr. Lopez is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelors of Music Education degree, and holds a Master of Music Education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Mr. Lopez has had the honor of conducting numerous all-county and regional honor bands. As an adjudicator for the Florida Bandmasters Association, Mr. Lopez judges in the areas of Marching, Concert, Jazz and Solo and Ensemble. Mr. Lopez further serves the FBA as a member of the Adjudication and Re-Districting Committees. In addition to the Florida Bandmasters Association, other professional affiliations include: The Music Educators National Conference, National Band Association, and the International Association of Jazz Educators. Mr. Lopez is honored to be an elected member of Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity.
